| The City of York can certainly boast a lot of historic buildings but nearby in the lovely village of Stockton of the Forest is situated an accommodation option which in itself presents over 200 years of history.

Named Church View for its location opposite the village church, the former farmhouse is full of aged charm and character and offers excellent bed and breakfast accommodation as well as self catering holiday cottages perfect for any visit to York and the surrounds.

There is a great local pub, the Fox Inn in which to enjoy drinks and meals and an 18 hole golf course within walking distance. Regular buses will take visitors the short 3 mile journey in the city of York and on to Yorkshire's east coast attractions.

Other local attractions include some wonderful country walks and a leisure centre with swimming pool, chutes and a wave pool, just a couple of miles from the guest house. Those planning a cycling holiday can take advantage of cycle hire for the duration of their stay.

Bed and breakfast accommodation is offered within the main house and is ideal for couples, small groups and families. There is a cosy guest lounge with exposed brick walls and real fire, the ideal spot for planning each day's adventures in Yorkshire.

All rooms are en suite and further benefit from tea and coffee making facilities and TV with DVD and CD players, plus a range of DVDs and CDs to choose from. A ground floor family room is available, and sleeps up to 5 persons.

Breakfast is served each morning between 8am and 9am. The self catering holiday cottages are adjoining the main building and have all amenities required for any length of stay. A bunkhouse is also available which sleeps groups of 15 to 20.
